Chapter 3

Aladdin woke in Jasmine’s arms, realizing almost immediately that the other woman was awake. She didn’t move at first, content in being there, like that, for as long as she could. Jasmine knew she was awake though.

“I should tell you a tale.” The older woman started, sighing a little. She didn’t try to move away though, and so Aladdin remained where she was, content to bask in the other’s warmth.

“What tale?” She questioned, when Jasmine stayed silent and didn’t say anything for something close to a minute.

“The tale of how I became a genie.” Jasmine’s voice darkened slightly, and Aladdin didn’t like it, at all. “I’ve told you why my father’s enemies hated me, I knew magic, I wasn’t like other women or men. They were afraid of me, but that only explains why they came after me, not how they succeeded or how they turned me into a genie.”

“And how did they do that?” Aladdin raised her head from where it had laid, pressed against the other’s chest, and looked right into her face.

Jasmine shrugged. “It was a curse, a powerful one, I’m not certain how he got it, who helped him, he knew no magic after all, but there’s no doubt it worked as he intended it to.” She paused, and though Aladdin didn’t know the other woman as well as she wanted to, she would almost say Jasmine was embarrassed. “Normally, a curse as powerful as that would be easy to feel, I should have been able to avoid it, but there was a distraction.”

Aladdin didn’t say anything. Now that Jasmine started her tale, she was certain the other woman would continue it, even if at her own pace. She just needed to give Jasmine the time she needed to gather her thoughts.

“When I warned you of the lengths humans would go for their greed, I was speaking of experience. Once, I was foolish like you, believed everyone was good deep down. I know better now.” There was plenty of bitterness in Jasmine’s words, and Aladdin wanted to soothe it in some way, but she didn’t know how. “One of my father’s enemies had a pretty daughter, she was the jewel of his eyes. I thought I was very clever when I started courting her. If I married her, brought her into my harem, my father could find peace with hers.”

Jasmine’s features darkened, and Aladdin didn’t need to know what would follow to understand the plan had failed. “Instead, her father used her, told the daughter he loved so much to let herself be seduced by me. She followed his commands as always, and not caring about her virtue in the least let me have her, and when I bedded her the curse her father hid within her sprung and turned me into the genie you’ve met.” Jasmine looked directly into Aladdin’s eyes, and the grief and anger in her face startled the younger woman. “She died in my arms, my seed staining her thighs, the magic of the curse crawling into my body, and I could do nothing about it.
